From humble beginnings with just $500 in our pocket, our founder dared to dream big and thrived. When the pandemic struck, she swiftly adapted, mastering new skills to weather the storm.
Working back from the impact we aim to achieve by 2030.
Since 2020, our prize-winning pilots — Co-Creation Nation (CCN) revolutionized 350 traditional shops into thriving online businesses. Meanwhile, Deep Data Detectives (D3s) championed 65 Black and Teachers of Color from rural areas to use data analytics to infuse eco-friendly teachings with science and nature.
Now, we're a non-traditional charitable model committed to empowering 1 million founders in the path to solving the green infrastructure crisis by 2030.
We advocate for a pro-startup agenda to reduce startup risk in the process, creating a greener, inclusive, dynamic economy.
We stand as stewards for the unsung heroes of green entrepreneurship and small business
Living in poverty in Rural USA (US Census - 2023)
Socio-economic barriers and lack of seed money.
174,000 women could be lifted from poverty by green investments.
Building a powerful coalition for affordable, green solutions.
From the very beginning, our mission has been crystal clear: to make sure everyone has a fair shot and feels included in the world of entrepreneurship. From micro-grants to unrestricted grants and matching grants, we offer crucial funding upfront—before any seed money—to those who lack resources to start.
Opportunity Unlocked: Jayden, a Newe artisan, received a $1,000 mini-grant. He transitioned his business online, expanding reach, reducing costs, and thriving digitally. Now, he thrives in e-commerce, dedicating more time to his craft. Mini-grants pave the way for a future where creativity thrives, barriers fade, and dreams come true!
Empowering Change: A $500 Mini-Grant in Rural Atlanta! Latoya Williams, a 28-year-old teacher, turned dreams into reality in Georgia. With a small grant, she sparked her students' interest in conservation to boost local tourism. This is the future we create when barriers fall and dreams rise.
Unlocking Potential: With a $1,000 mini-grant, Alberto Villarreal and classmates in Los Angeles embarked on a 30-day journey. They stayed in school, got internships, and graduated. Now, they pursue nursing and physical therapy degrees at a Community College. Mini-grants break barriers and shape futures.
Recognizing the barriers faced by under-resourced individuals, we embarked on a quest to empower them to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities to ignite green infrastructure, and bridge gaps for a greener, job-boosting, economy.
NXTWave was conceived as very grassroots from the outset to deliberately combine local projects with national and global impact. We're grateful for all our volunteers, who are experts in entrepreneurship, sustainability and economic development working in corporate and academia settings.
